SPRING RECREATIONAL GOLF LEAGUE FOR KIDS AGES 8-15 AT RIVER VALE COUNTRY CLUB

COMBINATION OF COACHING AND COMPETITIVE PLAY

TGA's Recreational Golf League is designed to give kids a taste of competition in a team-based format that encourages camaraderie among players, parental involvement, plus an opportunity to get ready for high school golf.

We are limited to 16 kids, so we will determine divisions based on who signs up. We will even the playing field by having different tee boxes. Formats will be team based, meaning the format kids will play with 1-3 other golfers (i.e. scramble, alternate shot, best ball, etc). Due to the time of the tee times, kids will not be guaranteed 9 holes each week. We will do our best to get in as many holes as possible, up to 9 holes. Pace of play is very important. All kids will be required to walk and carry their bag or use a push cart. Parents will be allowed to help caddie, but should only do so if they are knowledgeable about the game. 

Here is the league time line (all late afternoon/early evenings on Wednesdays). Everyone will be informed of tee times well in advance. Practices will be 5:30pm-6:30pm and tee times for on course sessions will start at 6:00pm. 

Week 1 (WEDNESDAY, APRIL 26) -- Drive, Chip, and Putt Evaluation - Group 1: 530pm-630pm/Group 2: 630pm-730pm

Week 2 (WEDNESDAY, MAY 3) -- Practice/Instruction Session with Coach - Group 1: 530pm-630pm/Group 2: 630pm-730pm

Week 3 (WEDNESDAY, MAY 10) -- 9 Holes with Team - TEE TIMES START AT 6PM

Week 4 (WEDNESDAY, MAY 17) -- 9 Holes with Team - TEE TIMES START AT 6PM

Week 5 (WEDNESDAY, MAY 24) -- Practice/Instruction Session Coach - Group 1: 530pm-630pm/Group 2: 630pm-730pm

Week 6 (WEDNESDAY, MAY 31) -- 9 Holes with Team - TEE TIMES START AT 6PM

Week 7 (WEDNESDAY, JUNE 7) -- 9 Holes with Team + Awards Presentation - TEE TIMES START AT 6PM

Leagues are open to junior golfers, ages 8-15, who have completed at least one TGA after-school class or camp, or can demonstrate comparable experience. Players should already have experience on the golf course and know proper etiquette.
